WRITE A CHECK

Who remembers life before the plastic card in your wallet? BDSRA gladly accepts gifts by CHECK in the mail! We receive monthly checks through a donor’s bill-pay option in their bank app. We receive a monthly check from a donor who alternates giving between Support and Research. We receive checks in memory of or in honor of loved ones. We are grateful for the checks we receive this time of year, so please pull out the checkbook and ask others to join you in advocating for a Cure!

DONATE  TO A FAM FUND AND/OR BECOME A FAM FUND

The BDSRA Foundation Fam Funds Program empowers our Batten families to share their Batten journeys, connect with fellow families, and raise funds for BDSRA. Those who sign up for the program can pick their own Fam Fund name to represent their child or family and get a personalized web page with a unique URL hosted by BDSRA for them to share their story with a way for those in their community, and allow them to make a life-changing donation in honor of their affected child(ren). 

Families can direct their Fam Fund Donations to the mission areas that mean the most to them within the BDSRA Foundation:

  • Research
  • Advocacy

DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS

Have you considered supporting the BDSRA Foundation with your donor-advised fund? BDSRA is a 501(c)3 and needs your grant distribution suggestions. Join other Batten advocates who direct those checks our way! Access this prewritten form to give to your money manager and ask that they let us know who suggested it.

EMPLOYEE MATCH

Many Batten advocates give to BDSRA through their Employee Match Program. Numerous companies support our mission alongside their employees. If your company gives a match, ask them how the BDSRA Foundation can be selected by you and the coworkers who support your Batten journey. QUALIFIED CHARITABLE DISTRIBUTIONS

Did you know you can give to the BDSRA Foundation with a qualified charitable distribution (QCD)? Also known as an IRA distribution, a QCD allows you to give up to $100,000 per year to nonprofit organizations such as BDSRA. LIFE INSURANCE BENEFICIARY 

There are three ways to give to the BDSRA Foundation using your Life Insurance policy: name the Foundation as a beneficiary when you buy the policy, edit an existing policy to include us as the beneficiary, or transfer ownership of the policy to the Foundation.
