Join us for the Virtual 2020 BDSRA Annual Conference!

What is the BDSRA Family Conference?

BDSRA’s Annual Family Conference creates a strong community of support for families impacted by Batten disease. It is the premier forum in North America for Batten disease family support, education, scientific presentations, networking, and research participation. In 2019, 400+ attendees traveled to Denver for three full days of support, education, and research programming. The opportunity to connect at this event creates meaningful, often lifelong, friendships, and relationships. We anticipate that the 2020 Conference will be our largest in history and the largest support gathering of Batten families from around the world.

International Virtual Conference

For the safety of the Batten community during the COVID-19 global pandemic, the conference will be entirely virtual in 2020. The virtual format will be through an app, that also features a web-based site. The virtual conference schedule will look very similar to the usual in-person conference. The app will include conference agenda, programs/sessions (prerecorded and live), contact/connection points, virtual exhibit hall, live link to the Memorial, and more. Families from all over the world are welcome to join the conference! All live recorded sessions will be available through the BDSRA website after the event.

Participants will also receive a Conference in a Box, which will include conference program and materials, activities for affected children and SIBs, and optional conference t-shirts. We are thrilled to partner with our dedicated colleagues from around the globe to be able to provide these materials to our families attending. To date, BDSRA AUS, BDSRA Canada, BDFA have all signed on to distribute materials in their service areas.
